Present Windows gives you an overview of your open windows. Push the mouse cursor to the top-left corner of the screen and press to arrange your windows side-by-side. You can click on a window to get it focused in front of you. Start typing a word from the label on a window and matching applicatons will be filtered. Hit Enter to switch to the chosen application. You can activate the Present Windows effect also with the keyboard through CONTROL+F9 or CONTROL+F10 to show windows from all virtual desktops.

The present windows is often triggered accidentally by users and can be quite annoying. It is nice feature, but users won't to invoke it purposefully, not accidentally. The default among many kde installs includes a "trigger" in the Screen Edges configuration. This is found...

Settings > System Settings > Window Behavior > Screen Edges

To reconfigure, click the upper right (square as seen below) with and you will see the Present Windows setting tied to mouse movements in that section of your screen. Setting this to "No Action" will help eliminate accidental triggering that many users complain about. You can always invoke it via CONTROL+F9 or CONTROL+F10.
